A CSA is a investment in a farm and a farmer. On our farm, we plant, grow and harvest based on the season and pest pressures. We won't have kale, broccoli or cabbage during the summer months due to pest pressures that love hot weather and Brassicae crops. We will have sweet potato greens, amaranth, hibiscus and jute leaf -greens grown and enjoyed around the world, that grow well during the summer heat.
What's in a share? Depends on the season and the weather.
Spring season - cool weather- cool weather crops.
Kale, collard greens, snap peas, Swiss chard, spinach, cilantro, broccoli, cauliflower, Italian parsley, mint, lettuce +.
Summer- hot weather, hot weather crops.
Bell peppers, hot peppers, tomatoes, , green peas, malabar spinach, bok choy, green beans, basil, mint, jalapeño peppers, rosemary, yellow squash, blackberries and strawberries .
Fall season- warm AND cool weather crops. *Fall harvests are typically bountiful and provide a greater variety of crops.
Snap peas, tomatoes, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, turnips.carrots, beets, radish, savoy cabbage, Swiss chard, spinach, broccoli, cilantro, parsley, mint, chives, lettuce ,snap peas, butternut squash, green beans.
How much produce is in a share? On average, about 9-12 items in each share. Ex: 1 bunch kale, 1 bunch collard greens,1 head lettuce, 1 bunch carrots, 1 quart strawberries, 1 bunch cilantro,1 bunch Swiss chard, 1 bunch spinach,
